Playrooms Skills and Upgrades — skills.exe on Steam (Two Pixels)

Official Playrooms skills.exe UI: Hand and Ball Pit trees, Ball Magnet levels, Quick Hands vs Nimble Hands naming, coffee machine upgrade text.

How do skills and upgrades work in Playrooms?

Playrooms (Two Pixels UG, Steam ball-pit sim) spends collected balls as currency on the store page. Gameplay screenshots show upgrades inside skills.exe on the workplace PC, alongside icons such as shop.exe, mail.exe, and light.exe.

Numbers below match the official Steam store screenshot of the in-game skills.exe window unless noted. Locked rows show ??? in that image. Two Pixels has not named them publicly.

Quick Hands vs Nimble Hands (naming mismatch)

Screenshot UI shows Quick Hands 0/2 under Ball Pit. October 13, 2026 Demo news (Workstation) says “Nimble Hands” is now measured in balls per second. The highest level is “all at once”.

Two Pixels has not confirmed whether Quick Hands was renamed to Nimble Hands or they are separate systems. Both strings are kept here with sources until an official clarification exists.

Coffee machine upgrades (announcement only)

Same 2026-10-13 post documents coffee machine upgrades:

  • Full effects split into “Active Effects”, “After Upgrade”, and “Later Upgrades” lists.
  • Coffee duration shown in clock format (example given: 03:00).

No prices or numeric buffs were listed in the news text we quoted, only UI formatting changes.

Balls, pits, and unlock flow (store-level)

Steam About copy (not skills.exe-specific):

  • Full ball pits unlock new abilities.
  • Collected balls are your currency.
  • Eventually you afford a key to the next area.

October 14, 2026 notes add that pits take on the colors of balls you deposit. That is visual feedback, not a skill level.

Other workstation programs (not full skill trees)

Official screenshots show desktop binaries but do not expose every tree:

Program Visible in official media
shop.exe Icon on desktop; store page mentions scoop and flashlight purchases
mail.exe Window partially visible behind skills.exe
light.exe Icon present; function not documented in news we read

Equipment keys: tools and equipment. Spending loops: Demo guide.
